LEARN TO PLAY THE STEELPAN

The steelpan is an instrument that can be taught privately, in a group setting, or virtually. We have options that can suit your needs.
Feel free to fill out our form below and we will contact you with information on getting started.

March Music Break Program

During March Break, we are offering an opportunity for three youths (ages 8-16) to learn the steelpan. Knowledge of music is not required.
This is an introduction to the lead steelpan whereby students will become familiar with the notes, technique, scales and a simple song.
Instruments, sticks, and stands will be provided on loan for each student.
Sessions will run from March 14th - March 18th from 11am-12pm. Deadline to nominate March 10th, 2022.

Virtual Steelpan Classes - NEW!

Do you have a steelpan and would like to learn to play?
We offer virtual steelpan lessons to those that are interested in learning to play the steelpan.

Steelpan Workshops

Workshops are used to give demonstrations or hands-on introductions to the steelpan.
These are popular with schools, libraries and corporate events. (Diversity day/week, Black History Month, Music Month, team building days)
Workshops can be an hour, a few hours or full day depending on your needs. If you are looking for a longer time commitment, classes might be more appropriate.

I have never played an instrument before and do not know anything about music theory, can I still sign up?
For sure, people of all ages are encouraged to join. You will be taught what you need to know and if there is something you don't understand, feel free to ask.

Do I have to own a steelpan?
Instruments and sticks will be provided during instruction.
